Keep Off!

Prickly pears are usually left alone by grazing animals because of their thorns.
However, giant tortoises in the Galapages Islands did not mind a prick here and there as long as they could get to the juicy stem-pads.
But the prickly pear has had the last laugh. It has developed trunks complete with bark leaving the giant tortoise gaping at it.
